  • January 28, 10 am - 12 pm -- Tapping Out Volunteer Day (Meet at 27 Crescent St, Weston MA)
    An annual New England tradition: help us install taps and buckets on Weston's maple trees! Sign up here if you are interested or if you want to volunteer with us throughout Maple Season!
  • Sunday, February 26 -- Tu B'shvat & the Local Trees, 3 - 4:30 pm
    Tu B'shvat is a Jewish tradition of assessing our field and fruit trees.  This year, Ganei Beantown celebtrated Tu B'shvat by visiting Land's Sake to learn about maple sugaring. This program was open to everyone.

March

  • Saturday March 25  -- Sugaring Off, 9 am - 12 pm
    Tour our Sugar House, watch maple sugaring demonstrations, and enjoy a maple-y breakfast, all led by student in our Maple Education programs.  *Location: The Bill McElwain Sugar House at Weston Middle School (456 Wellesley St, Weston MA)*

April 

  • Sunday April 9  -- Annual Meeting, 2:45-4:45 pm. At the Weston Public Library, 87 School St.
    Open to the public. We will start with light snacks, and then the meeting begins at 3 pm with Board business and elections, followed by a report from our Executive Director, Pam Hess, and a presentation from Brian Donahue on A New England Food Vision.” 
  • Saturday April 22, 10 am - 12 pm  --  Earth Day Volunteer Day
    Volunteer with us on Earth Day! Spend the morning removing invasive species from our landscape and working to maintain the beauty and historic significance of the land. Dress for the weather, and bring your own pruners, gardening gloves, and/or loppers if you have them!  Register here to stay up to date on the day's activities, and to stay informed about future events.

May

  • Ongoing -- Register for a season of farm-fresh experiences
    In the Spring, register as a Member, sign up for a CSA farm share, purchase Green Dollars, or on enroll your child in an Education Program so that you can enjoy all that Land's Sake has to offer this summer!

June

  • June 3 -- Farmstand Opening Celebration, 10 am - 1 pm
    The annual opening of our Farmstand, complete with vendor tastings and family friendly activities. The Celebration ends at 1, but the Farmstand will be open until 4.
  • June 3 -- Plein Air Painting Workshop with Larry Grob, 8 am - 12 pm
    Spend a Saturday morning seeing the Farm through an artist’s eyes. Local landscape artist Larry Grob will help you take your first steps or hone your skills in plein air painting, as we focus on the rewards of outdoor painting…with tips on picking your subject, composition, technique, materials, ‘survival’ skills, and more. Larry will create a demo painting and be your coach as you try your hand at bringing the beauty of Land’s Sake to life. All media are welcome. Bring your own drawing board, sketchpad, canvas, paper, pencils, or paints…and a field easel if you have one. Great for beginners to intermediate painters. Larry will be demonstrating using pastels. Morning coffee and snacks will be provided. Additional Saturday morning workshops will run July 8, August 26th, and September 23. Fee: $55 per session. Register here.

  • June 11  -- Fairies, Gnomes, and Elves Festival, 9 am - 12 pm
    Bring your little fairies, gnomes, and elves to the farm for a fun morning of magical outdoor play! We'll have arts and crafts, games and activities, and the chance to meet our farm animals. Register here to join the fun!

  • June 22 -- Thursday Evening Pastel Painting Workshop with Larry Grob, 5:30 pm to Sunset Spend a Thursday evening with us as late afternoon leads to sunset…one of the most beautiful and dramatic times of the day for plein air painters. Local landscape artist Larry Grob will help you explore the potential of pastels as we work quickly to capture the changing light. Larry will demo, share tips on subject selection, composition, and technique...and coach as you work on your own painting. Sanded paper pastel boards and foam core sleeves (for pastel transportation) will be provided. Bring your own pastels (Larry will have a starter selection available to share) and field easel if you have one. Additional Thursday evenings workshops will run July 20, August 24 4:30, and September 7. June and July dates will run 5:30 to sunset. August 24 will run 4:30 to sunset.   • July 9 -- Poetry Writing Workshop with Celia Lechtman, 11 am - 12:30 pm
    Join Celia to flex your creative muscles after this grey, rainy winter! We will be finding poetic inspiration from warm-up prompts, each other, and the farm itself in a supportive, process-focused environment. Whether it's your first time picking up a pen or you just need a fresh perspective, you will leave with seeds (or even blossoms!) of poetry you can be proud of. Originally from Virginia, Celia Lechtman is a woman in constant motion. She has taught poetry and theater at all levels, from the littlest of littles to adults in the state correctional system and knows that everyone is capable of remarkable authentic expression. A writer, doodler, singer in the kitchen, lover of moss, good dogs, and things that go bump in the night, Celia is currently based in and around Somerville, MA. Fee: $45. Register here.

    Professional florists Trish Scozzafava and Jessica Pohl from A Natural Arrangement invite you to join them to learn flower arranging skills as you create your own seasonally inspired arrangement from Land's Sake's award winning flower garden.

  • July 27 -- Aromatherapy Workshop with Irischa Valentin, 5:30 - 7:30 pm From calming our stress to uplifting our spirits, essential oils possess many healing qualities.  Essential oils are used to support our emotional, physical, and spiritual needs, blessing us with their plant magic. Join Irischa on an exploration of your strongest sense.  Through a guided meditation, you will create an aroma spritzer. Spritzers are a beautiful way to enjoy the pleasures of essential oils- refreshing  and rejuvenating you and your surroundings!  Fee:$45 per person. Learn more and Register  here.

    *Location: At the kitchen at the Weston Recreation Center, 20 Alphabet Lane, Weston, MA 02493* Learn to preserve delicious Land's Sake tomatoes to enjoy in the winter! Land's Sake's Education Manager (and canning enthusiast) Anna Cohen will teach you the ins and outs of safely and successfully processing and canning tomatoes. Each participant will be able to bring home a pint of their very own preserved tomatoes, and the know-how to can more at home. Make the most of this season of tomato abundance!   • September 26 -- Infusing Herbal Honey, 5:30-6:30 pm
    Come to Land's Sake and learn about all the wonderful magical abundant HERBAL plants that grow amongst us and how to make medicinal HONEY with wild or cultivated herbs! Each participant will be able to harvest their own blend of medicinal herbs and infuse them in a 16-oz jar of local Land's Sake honey to take home.Class limited to 20 people. Teens welcome, children welcome with an adult. This plant walk will feature a variety of medicinal plants - from cultivated echinacea and ashwagandha to wild-growing mullein and hawthorn, and many more!   • October 13 -- Pickling and Fermenting Workshop, 10- 11 am
    Learn to preserve delicious Land's Sake produce by pickling and fermenting! Land's Sake's Education Manager Anna Cohen will teach you the ins and outs of safely and successfully pickling vegetables and making lacto-fermented sauerkraut. Each participant will be able to bring home a pint of pickles, a pint of sauerkraut, and the know-how to continue to preserve the fall harvest at home.   • October 21 -- Build A Gourd Birdhouse Workshop, 1 - 2 pm
    Fall is the best time to hang a new birdhouse, and we have all the materials necessary for you to build a dream home for a house wren! Adults and children will work together to create a beautiful, functional birdhouse from a gourd grown at Land's Sake. Cost: $25 Member/$35 Non-Member Register here.
  • October 28 -- Backyard Beekeeping with Nancy  Mangion, 1 - 2 pm
    Learn the basics of backyard beekeeping with "Nancy the Beekeper!" Nancy Mangion of The Beekeeper's Warehouse will teach you everything you need to know about caring for your own hive of backyard bees through hands-on learning. Nancy will bring her demonstration beehive to teach you about bee care, honey harvesting, and the ecological significance of bees. Whether you want to become a beekeeper or just learn more about bees, this workshop will leave your mind buzzing! For ages 14+. Meet at Land's Sake Farm, 90 Wellelsey St. in Weston, MA.     Our very last Farmstand event of the season, visit us to stock up on all the storage veggies you need for the holidays and winter months. Moody's Delicatessen & Provisions will be joining us with their sandwiches!

  • December 2  -- Cut-Your-Own Christmas Tree Sale, 10 am - 2 pm * at 27 Crescent St, Weston, MA*
    An annual tradition, we'll provide the tools you need to select and cut your own Christmas tree from our fields.
