Open Farmyard is a free, drop-in program: Wednesdays (3pm-5pm) and Sundays (9:30am-11:30am)
Join Land’s Sake farm educators for free weekly drop-in activities, geared for ages 2.5-7. Programs include stories, picking and planting in the Education Garden, exploring the chicken coop and more. Activities are geared for small children with caregivers, but children of all ages are welcome. Come for one activity, or stay for the full two hours! A schedule is posted near the parking lot at the beginning of each session, so you know where to meet the group. Registration is encouraged, but not required.
EXAMPLE SCHEDULE
3:00 - 3:15: Water the Education Garden
3:15 - 3:30: Visit the Chickens
3:30 - 3:45: Planting project
3:45 - 4:00: Harvest & taste vegetables
4:10 - 4:20: Bunny circle
4:20 - 4:30: Feed the rabbits
4:30 - 4:45: Visit the goats
4:45 - 5:00: Craft project
Open farmyard activities are geared for ages 2.5 - 7 accompanied by an adult, however open farmyard is open to people of all ages!
Every session we have time with most if not all of our animals (goats, bunnies, chickens, ducks, worms), a craft activity, storytime, and garden time. All activities are drop-in and drop-out, so you can join us for all scheduled activities, or pick and choose.
No. We switch up our schedule every session to experience a variety of activities in a different order. We aim to include activities that the community loves the most, while introducing new options when possible.
No. Open Farmyard is free to all participants. Donations are always welcome to keep the program free and running!
