Our after school programs offer kids grades K through 8 the chance to build community, learn farm and forestry skills, connect to the outdoors, and bring home fresh vegetables! Programs have been modified to meet state and local guidelines regarding COVID-19. Financial Aid available. Please contact our education department for more details at education@landssake.org.
Spring 2022 After School Education Programs
Registration opens March 10th, 2022
Join us at the Farm this spring to help get the Children’s Garden growing! As Explorers, children are introduced to more in-depth garden topics such as weeding and trellising, plant and animal life cycles, animal husbandry, and composting. We will also enjoy visiting the Magic Tree and playing games. Students will take home seasonal produce from the garden when available.
- 2022 DATES: Eight Tuesday sessions, April 26th through June 14th from 2:20-4:45pm (no program on 5/30 due to memorial day)
- Educators will pick up children at Weston Public schools and walk them to the farm. Families are also welcome to drop off students any time after 2:30. COST: $330 regular rate, $300 for Land's Sake Farm members, family-level and above.
Junior Farmers get an in-depth look at how the farm is run, and take responsibility for taking care of the Education Garden and the chickens and rabbits. We will learn how to use tools, practice weeding and harvesting techniques, be able to identify seeds and plants on the farm, and participate in harvesting for our food donations program. Junior Farmers will take home seasonal produce from the garden when available.
- 2022 DATES: 6 Wednesday sessions, April 27th - June 15th from 2:20-4:45. No program on 5/4 or 6/1 due to WPS early release (we encourage participants to sign up for our Early Release programs as well!)
- Educators will pick up children at Weston Public schools and walk them to the farm.
- COST: $270 regular rate, $230 for Land's Sake Farm members, family-level and above.
Looking for a way to fill your Kindergartener’s “No School Day” with creative and fun activities outdoors? Land’s Sake has the perfect program for your child and your schedule! Children will explore the Education Garden, visit with farm animals, and play fun outdoor games.
- 2022 DATES: May 11th and May 18th, 9am - 1pm
- COST: $80 regular rate, $60 member rate (family level and above)

Make the most of getting out early by spending the afternoon outside on the farm! Each month we will experience the best the farm has to offer, using our extra time for in-depth cooking and gardening projects, animal visits, and more! Sign up for one day or all three!

Make the most of your April Vacation week! Join experienced Land’s Sake educators as we prepare garden beds, plant seeds, take care of rabbits and chickens, read nature stories, and make spring crafts. We will climb trees, look for tadpoles, and learn about the ways that the farm wakes up from its winter slumber. See nature and the farm come alive this spring! Bring a lunch for a picnic at the farm. Register for one day or up to all five!

Fall Education Programs

Looking for a way to fill your Kindergartener's "No School" time with creative and fun activities outdoors? Land's Sake has the perfect program for your child and your schedule! Children will explore the Education Garden, visit the with farm animals, and play fun farm games.

Through hands-on experience and outdoor play, Sprouts will learn how to care for our garden and farm animals and will get to try all of the tasty vegetables we've spent all year growing. Students will bring home seasonal produce from the Children’s Garden when available.

Through hands-on lessons and outdoor play, Explorers will dig deeper into gardening concepts, learn how to care for our chickens and rabbits, explore the seasonal changes in autumn, and find out how to identify local trees, plants, and animals. Explorers will bring home produce from the Children’s Garden when available.

Junior Farmers get an in-depth look at how the farm is run, and take responsibility for taking care of the Education Garden and the chickens and rabbits. We will learn how to use several tools, practice weeding and harvesting techniques, be able to identify seeds and plants on the farm, and participate in harvesting for our food donations program. Junior Farmers will take home seasonal produce from the Garden when available.

Fall Green Power students continue the work done by the summer Green Power program by caring for the crops in their own farmer field, which they will then harvest and use themselves. They also get exclusive access to the behind the scenes workings of the farm, care for farm animals, and participate in land stewardship projects. *Note, due to low enrollment, Green Power students are joining Junior Farmers (4th-5th graders) for part of the day, but still will get to take part in special green power projects.

Junior Leaders volunteer to help run various aspects of the farm. Days may include working at the farmstand, monitoring CSA pickup, playing with children in the afterschool programs, helping in the fields or gardens, or helping take care of the animals. Interested applicants must apply.
- 2022 Dates Coming soon: minimum of 2 hours per week between 1 pm and 6:30 pm from September-November
- Benefits: community service hours, work experience and produce from the education garden
- Weston High School students can take the bus straight to the farm at the end of the class day.

Winter 2022 Education Programs
Designed to actively involve youth in all phases of maple sugar production, students will help identify and tap maple trees, gather sap, and boil and bottle syrup. Students learn about the rich heritage of sugaring in New England from past to present, as well as the science behind the sugaring process. Students will also be involved with Land’s Sake forestry and other late-winter farming activities.

Explore the wonders of winter with Land’s Sake during February vacation week! Participants will spend mornings at the farm tracking animals, playing winter games, creating winter crafts, and learning about the winter landscape. An outdoors only program, we will warm up by the fire, make delicious snacks, and visit with some of our favorite farm animals! It is sure to be a fun week of learning and play! Register for one day or up to all four to stay active and outdoors this February vacation.

Come get a taste of maple sugaring while also learning about winter in the woods! Participants will explore our forests and forestry program, help stack firewood, taste sap, build snowmen and watch for signs of spring!

Join us for a wintry mix of sugaring and survival skills! Participants will learn tree id and shelter building, help stack firewood, taste and collect sap, boil syrup, build snow sculptures and enjoy the winter!
