Land’s Sake Board Biographies as of April 2023

Beth Marshdoyle / PRESIDENT
Beth has been a Weston Resident for 24 years and has raised three sons in the town of Weston. Beth fell in love with Weston due to the rural farming area and in a large part due to her first interaction at Land’s Sake. The first time she walked onto the farm she picked strawberries and a bouquet of sunflowers with her three sons. From that day on she was hooked on Land’s Sake! Beth has a MS in Natural Resources and a B.S. in Environmental Science. Like other members of the board she shares in the mission of Lands Sake in stewardship, sustainability and a love of the outdoors. With 35 years of professional sales, marketing and development experience at Apple she plans to work with engaging other families and businesses in the community to become involved with Land’s Sake either as a member or through sponsorships.

Chris Sanzone / VICE PRESIDENT
Chris, his wife, Annika, and their two children have been huge fans of Land’s Sake Farm since they moved to Weston in 2010. Chris grew up in the Berkshires and always has enjoyed the outdoors, dating back to his early childhood when he spent countless hours with his mom in their backyard vegetable garden. Chris and his family have enjoyed a little bit of everything at Land’s Sake — flower and vegetable picking, tending chickens, gathering with friends, attending Summer Discovery programs, volunteering for end-of-season cleanup – as it has become an integral part of their lives over the past decade. He continues to be inspired by the Farm and those who also care so deeply about it, and looks forward to continuing to help Land’s Sake further its important mission, particularly in the area of hunger relief. Chris received his undergraduate degree from Harvard and his law degree from Vanderbilt Law School. He has practiced as an employment lawyer since 1996, co-founding Sanzone McCarthy LLP in 2005 after nine years at a downtown firm. Chris serves on several other local non-profit boards, including the Weston Soccer Club, and when not at home or work, is likely to be found on a sports field in town.

Barrett Yates-Mack / TREASURER
Barrett moved to Weston from the South End in 2010 with her husband, son and dog (her second child was born on the Weston Town Green shortly after they moved to town!). Barrett and Tim now have three children and live in a historic neighborhood on the north side of town. She is currently the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of CrossLead, Inc., a management consulting firm focused on increasing adaptability and enhancing organizational performance within dispersed teams in complex environments, as discussed in their New York Times best-selling leadership and management book, Team of Teams: New Rules of Engagement in a Complex World. Previously, Barrett held several executive positions in finance, operations and real estate development and investing. Barrett serves as a Director on multiple non-profit and for-profit boards and in 2002, Barrett was one of the founding members of Adelante Now, an educational non-profit focused on combating low educational achievement levels in New Mexico. She has an MS from MIT and a BA from Cornell University. Barrett fell in love with the Land’s Sake’s open space, “getting dirty” with her kids on the farm and the food insecurity mission at Land’s Sake and is thrilled to serve on the Land’s Sake board.

Miriam Levy / SECRETARY
Miriam moved to Weston in 2021 with her husband and three children after 15 years in New York and one year in Copenhagen. Her family was drawn to Weston because of the outdoor spaces and natural setting, including Land’s Sake Farm. The farm was an immediate hit with her children, who enjoy the animals, the education programs and going to the farm stand. As relatively new residents, Miriam and her husband loved that the farm provides a space for the community to gather and to support local hunger relief efforts. Miriam has worked in strategy and analytics for over 15 years, most recently at S&P Global. She has a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University.

Teddy Bascom moved to Weston with his wife and two children (Reagan, 5 and Hayley, 3) and dog Chance in late 2017.  Growing up next to a field that was farmed by a neighbor and adjacent to hundreds of acres of Sudbury’s conservation land, made him realize that being outside was always better than being inside.  Teddy joined the Land’s Sake board in 2023 to offer his expertise in construction project management.  Teddy has been a member of Weston’s Permanent Building Committee since 2019 where he helps oversee work on Weston town owned buildings, most recently the Josiah Smith Tavern & Memorial Pool.  He and his family have fostered over 60 dogs and are actively involved in dog rescue. Margo had been on the hunt for the suburb that would best suit her family for quite some time, and it was love at first sight upon her first visit to Weston. The town and community have exceeded expectations, with one particularly delightful aspect being the discovery of Land’s Sake. The first time she saw the flower fields in bloom it absolutely took her breath away and restored a sense of calm and connection to nature that she had been craving for years. That coupled with the beautiful locally grown fresh produce and hunger relief initiatives and she quickly became a super fan!
