Kids Discovery Garden, Rock Painting Scavenger hunt & Animal Visits
Explore our educational raised bed garden and help us get it ready for this season. Search around for signs of spring, and meet the new additions to our bunny family while saying hello to old friends. Help us harvest rocks from the field to ensure the survival of our farm equipment, and get creative with painting a rock craft to take home!
Herb Garden Perennial Pollinator Project
Get your hands dirty and help us mulch the newly revamped herb and perennial pollinator garden at the front of the farm. We have saved some old plants and added new varieties to encourage pollinator visits and education, while beautifying our favorite spot on the farm. Thanks to W.P.P.A. for visiting to teach more about how you can help pollinators in your own backyard!
Forestry, Trails & Tree Walk
Swing by the table talking all things Trees! Our Forestry Manager will be onsite to explain how we at Land’s Sake help encourage the health of forests right here in Weston, by tree felling, making firewood & boiling our liquid gold maple syrup. Learn about the history of the trees on our farm which were planted decades ago by the Arnold Arboretum and Marion Case. Take a short guided tour around the farm to identify specimen trees thanks to our local neighbor tree lover Nina Danforth! Also connect with the W.F.T.A. to learn more about exploring all of the trails in Weston!
Hunger Relief Organizations & Local Support
A Group of Land Lovers started the whole thing over 50 years ago- Green Power was founded on the concept of bringing fresh food to struggling surrounding communities while teaching young kids a thing or two! Learn about the hunger relief organizations we work with today and how our work, supported by your generous funding is making a difference! We will also have opportunities for people to sign up for volunteer work, and learn how to help more!
Compost, Recycling & Farm Management
Make your way to the site of our giant compost pile which we turn with our big green John Deer tractor! Meet our new Farm Manager Brendan Murtha, who will be talking about all things farm, but mostly how we are working to improve composting on the farm and throughout the community! Thanks to S.W.A.G. for joining us in the effort to spread the love of recycling, sustainability, and learn what you can do to help at home!
Farmstand & Local Artisans
Visit our farmstand to pick up some local goodies, and some new items special for Earth Day! As always, we will have our Local Raw Honey, and the freshest batch of maple syrup from this season! We will also be highlighting local artisans, Larry Grob, Plein-air pastel artist and Matt Day local wood carving artist, so pick up some beautiful Earth Day keepsakes for your home. We are very excited for the farmstand to officially open on June 5th, and you can join us to celebrate that day too!
Capital Campaign & Land’s Sake Farm
Grow With Us! As many of you know, for the past 40 years, Land’s Sake Farm has been at the heart of Weston, nurturing our community through sustainable farming, hunger relief and education for children and adults. After receiving a long term lease on our current land, we began a strategic plan to envision a model community farm, fully sustainable to nurture our community even further. Our new infrastructure will significantly increase the impact we can have on the community and beyond! Stop by our info table to learn more and even take a guided tour to see how the project is evolving!
Land’s Sake Farm
Our staff will be onsite and at our info table to answer any questions you have about all things happening on the farm and with the organization. Sign up for Membership, Green Dollars, Volunteer opportunities, and availability of Veggie and bread shares.
