On Wednesday, 3/16, we launched our matching gift campaign of $500K by June 4th -- Opening Day! That means that your generous gift to the Grow with Us Campaign will be eligible for a special double-match up to $500k, thanks to a generous donor, Lise Revers, making your personal impact go twice as far. $100 becomes $200, $500 becomes $1,000, and ultimately $500K will become $1 million. Join us and help us build the future of Land’s Sake Farm together!
Join us on the farm March 11th, & 14th - 16th!
The timber frame animal barn will be constructed and raised on site starting March 11th, and we would love your help! Using traditional craftsmanship, the prepared posts, beams, and braces–made up of 60% donated Weston lumber–will be assembled Friday, March 11th and Monday, March 14th. Volunteers can sign up for morning (9am-11am) or afternoon (1pm-4pm) shifts to help with construction. The barn raising will take place on Tuesday, March 15th, and Wednesday, March 16th. Everyone is welcome to swing by between 10am and 4pm to see it happen - no sign up required.
Volunteers of all ages are welcome, but you’ll need to be able to lift and carry a heavy load, and we ask that you bring work gloves to protect your hands. As we’re relying on our volunteers to help with construction, please sign up only if you can commit to attend- rain, snow, or shine. Anyone who doesn’t feel comfortable participating is welcome to watch the process and cheer along the construction crew.
Our Grow With Us capital campaign is a project that will bring much-needed infrastructure to the Farm and will transform how we operate. With the addition of permanent structures and utilities, the Grow with Us campaign will allow us to expand our growing season and education programs, increase our food production, give more produce to those in need, and better serve our community.
Construction began in the fall 2021 when we installed our new hoophouse and began work on our greenhouse. These two structures will allow us to grow produce year-round and significantly increase our production and produce donation. In fact, the farmers planted seedlings in the hoophouse in January! This much-needed infrastructure is key in evolving to year-round operations and better serving our community.
